Wanderer

My fears are hidden in the blackness of the night.
My bare feet stand on this cold, damp ground.
I wander aimlessly, keeping sight on what I cannot see.
I have no where to go, so I have no way to get lost.
You call out my name, but I am unresponsive.
I cover my traces.
I should not- cannot, be followed.
My breathing is heavy, my throat is dry.
My cold fingers are clamped in shame.
Don't come after me, don't justify my loss.
Don't save me from myself-
Just save yourself.
Don't wander in the dark, you're smarter than that.
But I have no where to go, so I have no way to get lost.
